We believe small is
the most powerful word.
Habi was built by a small team who got frustrated with habit apps that felt like more work than the habits themselves. So we built the one we actually wanted to use.
Our Story
Born from frustration.
Shaped by simplicity.
In 2024, our founder Kenji tried every habit app he could find. All of them had the same problem: they were designed to be impressive, not useful. Feature after feature, reminder after reminder โ and yet, his habits weren't improving.
So he opened a notes app and wrote a simple checklist. Seven habits. Every morning, he checked them off. Three months later, his life had measurably changed.
That checklist became Habi. We stripped away everything that wasn't that essential experience โ and built the rest around what actually works.
Today, Habi is used by 48,000+ people across 60 countries. Our office is a quiet room in Marunouchi, Tokyo, with seven people and a whole lot of matcha.
Habi by the Numbers
Small team. Big impact.
Our Team
Seven people.
One obsession.
We're small by choice. Every person on our team uses Habi daily and has a say in what we build.
Our Values
What we stand for
Radical Simplicity
We remove features, not add them. Every screen in Habi should feel obvious. If it takes explanation, it's too complex.
Start Tiny
We design for beginners and experts equally. The power of Habi is that it gets out of your way and lets the habit take center stage.
Privacy First
Your habits are deeply personal. We never sell your data, never show ads, and give you complete control over your information.
Sustainability
We're a bootstrapped company โ no VC funding, no growth-at-all-costs mindset. We build for the long term, not the next funding round.
Honest Communication
We ship changelog emails that are actually worth reading. We admit mistakes. We share our roadmap openly.
Evidence-Based Design
Every feature in Habi is backed by behavioral science research. We don't guess what works โ we build what the research shows actually helps.
Tokyo HQ
Where we work
Our office overlooks the Marunouchi district in central Tokyo. It's a calm, minimal space โ exactly what you'd expect from a company that believes in removing friction.
We work mostly in deep focus blocks (inspired by our own product), gather for a team lunch every day, and end each day with a shared habits check-in.
